It's probably the thing that bugs me the most and THE NUMBER ONE REASON why most horses don't win...bad prepping/priming or, worse, none at all. With every show I attend, more horses seem to lack prepping. Removing seems and insuring a smooth canvas to paint on are the hallmarks of a winning model horse, or even just a shelf model you want someone to adore for years to come. Nothing would be more frustrating to me than to purchase an expensive custom, only to find the seams were not removed, especially if it were for my showstring.
Without further ado, I thought I'd share this excellent tutorial video by Darynn Bednarczyk of DeeJayBe who walks you through everything you need to know about prepping and priming model horses.
